Martin Luther King Day is known to many as a day to serve the community and neighbors through acts of service. To honor this important day, Noodles and Company’s THRIVE leadership team led two services projects to spread Uncommon Goodness and honor Martin Luther King’s legacy of giving to others.
The first project, hosted by the University of Utah, brought together 25 Noodles’ team members and others from the community to put together 500 wellness kits for the homeless and others in need. George Gutierrez, THRIVE’s Lead, shared the words of Martin Luther King about the importance of giving back: “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
In a second event, led by THRIVE’s Co-Lead Rebecca Dees, a large group of Noodles’ team members partnered with the Potomac River Watershed to pick up trash and clean up the Matthew Hanson Trail. The group braved the cold temperatures of Silver Springs, MD, to help this community shine a little brighter.
