On November 19, 2022, Colorado Springs and Club Q suffered a tragedy during an overnight shooting that targeted the LGBTQIA+ community. As the home to many of our team members and several of our restaurants, our team members and community felt the pain of this tragedy in many direct and indirect ways.
Noodles has always been a place of inclusion, and diversity, and encourages our team members and guests to be their most authentic selves. To support our team members and the LGBTQIA+ community, Noodles hosted a local fundraiser night on December 14, 2022, in which 25% of qualifying sales went to supporting the Colorado Healing Fund. From this, Noodles proudly raised $5,000 in donations.
“We are blessed that our team in the Springs is safe, but we know there is a long road ahead as they navigate the impact the shooting will have on them and their loved ones.” said Dave Boennighausen, chief executive officer at Noodles & Company.
As a proud supporter of diversity and the LGBTQIA+ community, Noodles offers all team members a safe and inclusive space through our PROUD resource group. Noodles Resource Groups are a safe space for team members to come together to share ideas, elevate their voices, create career growth opportunities, and engage with the community and resources. Our LGBTQIA+ team members can take advantage of various benefits such as paid maternity and paternity leave; surrogacy and adoption assistance of up to $10K; free mental health counseling; and gender-neutral bathrooms in Noodles restaurants across the country, so all team members and guests feel welcome and safe.
